Jewellery Care

Caring for Your Daughter London Jewellery

Your Daughter jewellery is thoughtfully crafted in London using premium materials, only using precious metals and lab-grown gemstones. Designed to be loved + passed down through generations, your jewellery will remain beautiful with proper care. Please follow the guidelines below to preserve your Daughter Jewellery:

General Care Tips

Store Away from Sunlight: Keep your jewellery in a cool, shaded area to prevent fading and tarnishing.

Use Individual Packaging: Store each piece separately to avoid tangling, scratching, or damage to chains + designs.

Remove Before Sleeping: We recommend removing your jewellery before sleeping

Avoid Exposure to Moisture & Chemicals: Always remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, applying skincare products, or using cleaning products to prevent damage.

Caring for Gold Vermeil Jewellery

Gold vermeil jewellery is coated with a thicker and more durable layer of gold than standard plating. We plate our vermeil rings with 4 microns of 18ct gold, while all other vermeil pieces are plated with 3 microns of 18ct gold.

To extend its life and maintain the finish:

Remove Before Washing or Applying Products: Always remove your jewellery before washing your hands, bathing, or applying moisturisers, hand creams, or sunscreen.

Avoid Chemicals: Hand sanitizers, perfumes, and other chemicals can damage the vermeil plating. Allow perfumes to fully absorb before wearing your jewellery.

Remove Before Exercise: Take off your gold vermeil jewellery before engaging in activities that may cause friction, rubbing, or excessive perspiration.

Caring for Gemstone Jewellery

Gemstones are precious and require extra care:

Avoid Knocks & Heavy Work: Be mindful with gemstone-set pieces to prevent chips, cracks, or scratches. Remove jewellery when performing tasks that could damage the stones.

Cleaning Your Jewellery at Home

To keep your jewellery clean and shiny:

Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft toothbrush with warm, soapy water to gently clean each piece. This will not restore the original shine on vermeil jewellery, so we recommend re-plating (vermeil) for rejuvenation. Details on our renewal service can be found below.

Dry with a Soft Cloth: Buff gently with a soft cloth to restore shine.

Polish with Town Talk Cloth: Use the included Town Talk polishing cloth to maintain the lustre of silver and gold vermeil jewellery. Use it gently on vermeil pieces.

Storage Tips

Store in a Ziplock Bag: To prevent tarnishing from exposure to air, store your jewellery in a ziplock bag. Acid-free tissue can also help preserve its shine and prevent tarnishing.

Store Separately: Avoid storing jewellery together where pieces may rub, scratch, or tangle.

Avoid Storing Near Heat or Damp: Hot and damp conditions can cause tarnishing. Keep your jewellery away from heating vents, windowsills, and bathrooms.
